Hey hey.
I was just poking around the Sound Devices website to see if they had
announced any new products. I watched the NAB recap video they have
there and they talked about multiple 744's being linked together
through the port on the side. They talked about how they can all be
controlled through one that is set as the "master" recorder, so all
roll in sync, and all stay jammed, etc.
My question is in regards to the file naming when you have them linked
like that. Let's say that I have two 744T's, A and B, and A is the
master. When I roll A, B rolls too, but they are recording at least 2
different files for each take. Are the file names for both 744T's set
on the "master" recorder? If so, do the two files being recorded have
the same filename coming from the A recorder? Does B automatically
append the file name with "...File 2 of 2" or something along those
lines?
I'm wondering if anyone out there is using this linked method with 7
series recorders and if they have ever had any phone calls from post
about being confused over the multiple BWF's for each take.
Thanks,
Joe
