So, you mean that by originally recording separate 16/44 and 24/96
files would give better 16/44 results. Possibly yes, but that is a
moot point if even this inferior 16/44 material can not be
distiquished from inside the 24/96 file. Or do you mean downconversion
to 16/44 and uprezzing to 24/96 does not actually bring down the
resolution of those snippets???

By the way, practically all modern classical CDs are recorded at
24/, 24/96 or SACD and downconverted to 16/. Just like my test
file.
