I don't think the girl's response has anything to do with her knowledge =
of geography. She was asked a question aboaut a non-existant statistic =
that the questioner probably made up and that has since been found to be =
unverified. I forget the actual stat but it was something like "30% of =
all students can't find the USA on a map". This is a completely made up =
statistic as no one has been able to find such a stat. It is hard to =
beleive that the stat quoted is true --all of my third graders can =
identify the USA on a map and most can name all the continents as well. =
The person who should have been ridiculed is the person who asked the =
question.=20
