Three from "Sullivan's Travels" (but not the only three):
1. The early scene where the two producers try to dissuade Joel McRea from
making "Oh Brother..", especially when they rattle off the ages and
associated salaries. "When I was 18, I was making 16." "When I was 15, I
was making 25."
2. The chase scene with the kid in the go cart, capped by:
"Drive carefully."
"You know me."
3. The discussion right after that where William Demerest (for some reason)
blurts out "A hot shower and a secretary."
Or how about the scene in "The Lady Eve" where she calls the play by play as
women approach Henry Fonda? Or the angry train hurtling through the night
as the new bride confesses all (and then some).
Lots of talk about WCF, here. Not surprising. How about the Buffalo Bella
scene in "You Cant Cheat an Honest Man"? In fact Im on the floor for the
whole movie. Just so for many WCF films, in fact.
Actually, wouldnt we have shorter list discussing how many WCF scenes DONT
result in guts-out laughter every time?
