Also leave the responsibilty of keeping the camera in sync with the slate to the AC or DP. As in my experience the HVX drifts 1-10+ seconds per hour. Either way they should be okay but in my experience informing the camera department and editor that the smpte will be in sync the camera is not something you are going to have control over.
