we don't
we just put it as close as possible and run ( usially time of a day as the
sd doesnt keep the tc after few hours when it shut off )
the first slate is the reference point till the next one
if you keep doing slates every time the camera change batteries /cards you
don't have to slate every take
of course if you run smart slate hooked to your recorder ( or jamad)on
these slates you don't need to do announcement as well :-), keep the camera
mic open as shit does happens
