Don't laugh. One of my prime techniques used to great effect in
elementary recess I learned from Robin in one of those early episodes.
It's been a while (say sixty years) but I remember B&R fisticuffs and
Robin breaks off with his adversary who chases and Robin lays down
parallel to the approach of the baddy who falls over him. That worked
great for me, too, with the sole difference my pursuer stepped on my head.
I seem to remember also the first chapter ending with B&R in what I
thought was a dank bay and suddenly it caught on fire! I said, water
burns in serials, okay. I think it may've been oil, but I liked my
version better.
