I only went for about an hour yesterday due to a busy day, but I don't
think you missed all that much unless you were really eager to see
some of the new things.

I didn't get to see the new Cantar stuff, unfortunately -- Aaton
wasn't listed in the directory and I was disappointed that I couldn't
find their booth.

Zaxcom had a version of their recording radio + IFB that Glenn said
was finished. Very small and cute. The sad thing for me was that I
was expecting something that had built-in phantom power. To me, the
only reason to include an IFB in the transmitter is so boom operators
would only have to wear one box -- obviously, an IFB is not useful in
a body mic situation. The nice thing that the TRX900 appeared to be
was that the boom op could simply grab one box, plug headphones and
mic in and be done. But if operators need to wear a separate P48
power supply, and string cables to and fro, they still have to wear
two boxes.

Lectro had a great, light little stereo receiver that runs off the
camera battery. Very nice for single system work.

The Audio Ltd. 2040 stuff was up and looks good. The mini transmitter
is ready to go and it is backward compatible with 2000/2020 receivers.

The DPA shotgun was out for all to listen to. Sounded pretty good,
but it was hard to get a sense of the reach given the noise/acoustics
and the fact that it was shown with a pistol grip and short cable.

The Nagra VI looks really big and heavy. I wouldn't want to wear
one. I'm sure the preamps are nice and the LCD display was cool, but
it seems kind of clunky otherwise and I'm not sure it brings anything
new to the table.

The PD606 seems like a good improvement on its predecessor. I didn't
see a firewire or USB port on the machine but Rick C assures me there
will be a way to get data off the hard drive. The HD is removable as
well which is a nice step, and the display now looks like the 824's.
It seems a bit smaller and lighter as well, and the IDX camera battery
mounts on the back seem like a good improvement over traditional NP1s
for a power hungry machine. I didn't spend a lot of time with the
204.

The new Sennheiser modular microphone series looks enticingly SMALL.
Like a finger's length small.
