I have been working with timecode from the early eighties
I always have 10 seconds of pre roll and watch to be sure that camera
department does the same on video cameras
I have had editors ask why I used TOD TC on a 3 camera film & sync
sound job ?

there seems to be a inbred prejudice to using time of day TC on
anything resembling a video camera, not a big deal when there is one
camera
but with multiple cameras coveing the same event TOD is the only way
to go
will they still want rec/run TC when tape goes away ?

I agree with you

when there is a sync issue in the US it is usually the sound
department who takes the hit, so I am very proactive about timecode
use on productions
