Oh, we have tons of evidence that these guys knew they were presenting
lies as if they were facts so as to get us into war.

We have tons of evidence that these guys have politicized departments
that are supposed to be non-partisan. (Some prominent Republicans
have stepped forward to say that and to object to this behavior on
conservative grounds.)

We have tons of evidence of corruption and hypocrisy.

I think Cheney is liable to impeachment from his own statements
claiming that he and the President don't have to follow the
Constitution. That's treason right there. They are sworn to uphold
the Constitution, but they keep trying to find loopholes to deny due
process. The whole country was formed on the basis of due process,
for heaven's sake.

So there is ample cause for investigation. Bush, Cheney and Gonzalez
are scared to death because they know what shaky ground they are on.
That's why they're holding onto Gonzalez. If they get rid of this
guy, the new head of the Department of Justice will have to be someone
who can be confirmed, which means someone with some credibility of non-
partisan integrity, and that person would have to act on evidence and
follow due process. What Bush and Cheney are doing to Gonzalez is
kind of mean. If this guy is Bush's friend and Bush lets him expose
himself to such non-partisan public derision, how would Bush treat an
enemy? Oh wait, we do know the answer to that. Strip him of his
constitutional rights, make a public trumpeting of his guilt without
producing evidence, and lock him away in a hellhole for sadist to
practice waterboarding on.
