Since the unemployment numbers have changed little, and we know people
did not all get massive pay cuts, then its clear that their real cash
flow is the same as it was before, they just feel less wealthy.
Obviously there are about a bazillion little factors all feeding in. The
endlessly rising energy slice that is mostly a non-optional cost

With no end in sight. But getting back to the original post, it's nice
to hear Dem candidates already selling "The Iraq war: we just can't
afford it."

Yet Hillary Clinton voted for the war and, though she claims she will start
bringing troops home within 60 days after she is in office, she does not
specify HOW MANY troops. 60? 600? 5,000? 2? I seriously doubt she is
stupid enough to bring them all home. If she does, Al-Qaeda will take over
the country and make it their new terrorist homefront--and it will be her
fault. And she knows it. So, though she says she will bring troops home 60
days after she enters the office, remember this is a CLINTON we are dealing
with here. Honesty is not something these folks take too seriously.
Double-speak? They EXCEL at that!
But what else will President Hillary do? Her ads talk about closing tax
loopholes for big corporations, so expect the corporations to respond by
raising prices on their products (including gas) and freezing hiring. Thus
inflation and an increase in unemployment.
She also wants to raise capital gains taxes so expect a huge rush to sell
stocks as soon as she (God forbid) wins the election resulting in a stock
market crash.
Oh, and her health care program will be mandatory. Anyone watch her (not)
answer George Stephanopoulousousousossoous's question about wage garnishing
a few weeks ago? The question was, if someone decides her MANDATORY
healthcare program is not for them, or decides they are so healthy they
don't want to pay for it, will the Clinton government seize the money from
their wages? I beleive he asked the question 3 or 4 times because she kept
not answering. After several attempts, George realized she was not going to
answer and gave up the question.
Of course, with each passing primary it appears less and less likely that
Hillary will win the nomination. But again, these are the Clintons we are
dealing with here. I just hope Sen. Obama has a good food taster.
I think the "free-ride" Sen. Obama has been getting from the media (heck,
even the Clintons are attacking MSNBC for being so OBVIOUSLY pro-Obama and
anti-Hillary, subtletly is not a characteristic of that network --nor are
RATINGS!!) is going to come back and bite them in the ass. If he gets the
nom., he will, I hope, have to answer some freaking questions about what an
Obama presidency would look like. Right now his rhetoric is as substantive
as cotton-candy. Even the left-wing media can't let that go for too much
longer.
So far, the only rationale for Obama doing so well is "He's a good speaker"
and his race. But that is all that is needed in the Democratic party. A
black guy who isn't a raving nutcase like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton,
Charlie Rangel and Cinthia McKinney?? We'll take him!!
Will the Democrats never learn? They keep putting these EXTREMELY weak
candidates on the ticket for their Presidential noms, and they keep
scratching their heads in bewilderment when they lose. How could someone as
charming and smart and honest as AL GORE lose? And John Kerry? Good God, he
had WINNER written all over him!
Sean Hannity is doing the Democrats a huge favor. Whenever they have their
room full of Democrats that their pollster interviews, Sean alsways tells
the pollster to ask the Dems in the room to list the accomplishments of Sen.
Obama. He either gets characteristics (like "he's a great speaker"), or
blank stares. Last week, one Obama supporter confronted with the question
responded with "Pass!"
I can think of quite a few Democrats who are FAR more qualified to be
President than Obama or Clinton. But, every four years, the Dems keep
sending out their losers.
Looks like this election year will be like all the others.
