I don't know which government you worked for, but where I live a good many
government workers tend to be in favor of (democratic) socialism, especially
when the government they work for is a conservative one; they get to have a
close-up view of the inequities of government policies designed primarily to
make the rich richer and devil take the hindmost.
If the alternative means that I either have to pay the entire bill for my
own or my loved ones' heart surgery or die, than I'll let the government
keep running my health insurance, thanks. I realize that guys like you are
almost always in favor of social Darwinism, but I don't belive that
"survival of the fittest" should equate with "survival of the most
financially well off".
