Nolan Unlocks 'Prisoner'
11 August 2006 (IMDb Update)
Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan has inked a deal with Universal
Pictures to direct their feature adaptation of the cult British TV series
The Prisoner per Variety. Based on the short-lived 1967 show starring
Patrick McGoohan as super cool inmate Number Six, the film tells the
modern-day story of a former secret agent trying to break free from his
island captors. Twelve Monkeys scribes Janet and David Peoples will pen the
script for producers Scott Stuber, Mary Parent, Barry Mendel and Emma
Thomas. Nolan will take on helming duties after completing Warner Bros.'
caped crusader sequel The Dark Knight next year.
