Gentlemen, i must first say that i am really grateful for the help and
the way people are reacting ( being positive and encouraging me ). I
had a good conversation on the phone with a fellow from Ramps who
lives in my area, and i believe i am dealing with multiple issues
here, making this mucho tough to figure out. I will absolutly not
rule out the sweat factor into the equation since it is ( was over
here ) summer and the packs were getting wet. Unfortunatly at the
same time i was having the issues a very similar known ( but not to
me ) problem of another nature was there. I was working on two shows
that were produce by the same company and after making some calls
figure out tht they were using the same cameras ( actual same ). Now
these are Panasonics SDX-900. I monitor my return using the Xlr5 in
the back ( audio out ) and it would seem that the audio can sometime
loose all of it's low end and even slightly distort on high
frequency. Exactly sounding like my other issue. It turned out that
the camera that i was hook to was doing this and after getting
playback i was reasured that it was only coming from the Xlr5 ( i was
monitoring directly on the headphone out of the camera for playback ).
Now what i am not sure is if the same issue was hapening with the
HDX-900 we were using on the other shoots. Still, on these other
shoots, after replacing the sanken's with Countryman the issue was not
reapering.
I have to thank Tyler at Trew for helping me out and overnighting a
Sanken ( new ) to use for comparison tommorow. I will also had to my
test opening up the packs for sweat/salt damage inside the units.
Matt do yo mean to say that you can actually rinse the inside of the
pack ( pc board with component exposed ) with water??? I would be
very nervous doing this, Contact cleaner would probably make me
calmer, what do you think...
