Besides the fact that i ( just as Ben ) wonder if you are using DF,
you should keep 2 things apart. the RTC clock is afaik just a
reference for your int. OS and system, and has basically nothing to
do with the actual TC stability. In other words, the TC gen is always
the ref, not the int RTC clock.
Also, you can run Time of day also with a or the TC generator.

I also wonder if you had many phone calls from drifting audio TC
compared to pic TC , since , if i understand you correct, you use RTC
from the int. clock as a ref, instead of using the the Ambient TC
gen. as a ref.
