But I didn't say it was a faithful adaption. I said it was the best
case you could hope for to get a faithful adaption and DIDN'T, because
faithful adaptions are a bad thing and Goldman knew better than to
give us one, even of his own work.

I've reread my post because several people seem to think I said it was
a faithful adaption, and I really don't see why they think I said
that. I said it was a best case based on the writer and his degree of
influence, and specifically pointed out that it still wasn't all that
faithful/
