Hi all, great group, been lurking for a while but need some help.

I bought a SD Mix Pre a couple of months ago but now i've been using
it for a few days and find that when the limiters operate they produce
a clip noise as they engage and the light comes on. Ive tried bith
channels and they're the same and adjusting the threshold makes no
difference to the clip but does function otherwise as expected. I've
tried alternating between internal and external power sources and
changiing other controls but i can't get rid.

I've done a bit of searching around and read nothing but praise for
these limiter circuits so im guessing i might have a dud unit. Since
the day it was new i've had various meter LED's remaining on and then
reverting to normal which makes me think i've been sold a lemon, but
can't imagine the two faults being related.

FYI, Im running an MKH-50 (LF Cut no pad) and gain is between 9 and 3
o'clock (hushed voice to group scream).

Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions?

I'd run it back to the shop but i'm on location in the South Pacific.
